Mixtape 1

For the first mixtape, I am in love with this cover. I think that it has a lot of texture and visual interest, and I love how the red and the pink kinda contrast each other.

This was my first mixtape, so it has no real theme. This is just a collection of songs that were in brain when I was making this. Which, I guess that's what a mixtape is. There is a lot of pop punk on here, but also some hardocre/punk stuff, some folk punk stuff, some grunge.

If you look closely you'll notice that Not Afraid by Attack! Attack! is on here twice. Proves that you should always listen to your mixtapes before you burn them.

I'm hoping that I can hold on to this mixtapes as documentation of who I was and how I was feeling at a point in time, a lot of these songs are really representitive of the media I've been consumeing and how I feel about life and music. This mixtape is very scattered and all over, and that is definitly how I felt in August.

Mixtape 2

This is the second mixtape I've made, and I definetly tried to add more hardcore/punk music than I did last time, with the exception of a few songs.

The two songs by Pretty Sick are very pop-y. I put them on here because I thought that my sister might like them, and I knew she would never listen to them otherwise. Plus, "master bass" is a killer line and is always stuck in my head.

I got the Monroe card on the cover from a trading card pack at my local Comic Con with intentions of using them for an art project, but the Monroe ones were so old that the front was stuck together and the picture was pretty ruined when I tore them apart. The back was perfect though, and had this amazing blue color that I centered the rest of it around. The blue pops out a lot more irl, and it think it brings a lot of contrast to my first mixtape.

My sister thinks that the eyeballs are 2021-alt-cringe-pilled, which I guess. I think they add an interesting texture. Also cringe is the mind killer.

The picture in the middle is a frame from some MCR video of Mikey straighting his hair. The rest of the comic is visible on the back.
